Toward a Second Century of Service
Strategic Plan 2013-2017
As the Order of the Arrow prepares to celebrate its centennial in 2015, we find
ourselves increasingly centered in the current of Scouting. In many ways, we've
chosen to be there, as our past several strategic plans have emphasized the alignment
of our priorities with those of the Boy Scouts of America. In some ways, we've benefitted
from the serendipity of simply being prepared when Scouting needed us
- as evidenced in our partnerships with High Adventure, the US Forest Service, the
National Park Service, the Summit Bechtel Reserve, and others. Locally, our lodges
have followed the national example and increasingly integrated their programs into
those of their councils, strengthening both and providing greater service to the
young people who are the focus of our mission.
The Strategic Plan for 2013 to 2017 was first presented at the 2012 National
Order of the Arrow Conference during the National Council of Chiefs meeting. Now
it is available to the entire Order, allowing us to focus on a Journey to Excellence
and a complete a century of service. Onward, toward a second century of service,
the full Strategic Plan is available below.
